The Nutritional Approach

Delvoran Journal operates under a set of editorial principles developed to ensure that published content reflects observable nutritional knowledge, cites relevant published research where available, and maintains independence from commercial influence.

01 — Foundation

Editorial Principles

Delvoran Journal operates under the following editorial principles: articles are reviewed by at least one second editor before publication, sources are cited where appropriate, corrections are noted publicly, and writers disclose any commercial relationships that could influence their selection of subject matter.

Each piece published by the journal begins with a clear editorial question — a specific observation about everyday nutrition, food choices, or weight awareness that the article seeks to examine. The writer is responsible for documenting the evidence base that informs the piece, and the reviewing editor assesses whether that evidence base is proportionate to the claims made.

Where published nutritional research is referenced, writers are expected to link directly to the source or provide sufficient information for readers to locate it independently. The journal does not accept paraphrased or second-hand citations; where direct sourcing is unavailable, the article should note that the claim reflects the writer's editorial observation rather than documented research.

02 — Process

From Observation to Publication

01

Topic Identification

The editorial team identifies topics from published nutritional research, reader correspondence, seasonal patterns in food availability, and observations drawn from the nutrition literature. Topics are assessed for relevance to everyday food choices and weight awareness.

02

Research & Writing

Commissioned writers conduct primary research using published dietary literature, nutritional surveys, and observational studies. The journal draws on independent nutritional sources rather than summaries from commercial entities. Draft articles are expected to document the source of each substantive claim.

03

Editorial Review

Every article passes through a two-stage review: first by the commissioning editor for structure, tone, and factual accuracy; then by a second reviewer who checks source citations and assesses whether the article remains within the journal's editorial scope. Articles that make claims beyond the available evidence are returned for revision.

04

Publication & Correction

Once approved, articles are published with a datestamp and author attribution. Where post-publication corrections are necessary, these are noted at the top of the article with a brief explanation. The journal does not silently alter published content.

03 — Sources

Source Verification Standards

Content published by Delvoran Journal is selected based on published nutritional research and reviewed for editorial accuracy by a second editor before publication. The following source types are considered acceptable for citation within articles:

Peer-Reviewed Literature

Articles published in peer-reviewed nutritional and dietary journals. Writers are expected to access primary sources rather than press releases or summaries. Where a peer-reviewed source is paywalled, writers should note the journal name, authors, and publication year.

Public Health Surveys

National dietary surveys and public health nutrition data published by recognised bodies such as the UK National Diet and Nutrition Survey or equivalent international sources. These are used for statistical context only, not as sole evidence for substantive claims.

Qualified Nutrition Professionals

Observations and perspectives from qualified nutrition professionals, attributed by name and professional background. The journal distinguishes between expert observation and peer-reviewed evidence; articles are expected to make this distinction clear to readers.

Editorial Observation

Some articles draw primarily on the writer's sustained observation of a particular eating pattern, food rhythm, or nutritional practice. These are labelled as editorial observation pieces and are not presented as evidence-based research. The distinction is noted at the article's opening.

Sources that are not accepted include: manufacturer-funded studies where the funding creates a potential conflict of interest not disclosed in the original source; anecdotal accounts presented as representative findings; and content produced by commercial entities whose primary interest is the sale of a product related to the subject of the article.

04 — Accuracy

Accuracy & Corrections Policy

The journal maintains a public corrections log for substantive errors. Minor typographical corrections are made silently. Corrections that affect the meaning of a claim, the attribution of a source, or the accuracy of a statistic are noted at the top of the affected article with a datestamp.

Readers who identify potential inaccuracies are invited to contact the editorial desk by email at [email protected]. All accuracy queries are reviewed within five working days and acknowledged by reply.

Where an inaccuracy has been identified before publication by the reviewing editor and corrected during the editing process, this does not constitute a published correction and is not logged publicly.

The journal does not alter the substance of published articles in response to commercial pressure, reader complaints unrelated to factual accuracy, or external parties whose interests are affected by the content. Editorial decisions about what to publish and how to frame subjects rest entirely with the editorial team.

05 — Independence

Independence and Disclosure

Delvoran Journal is an independent editorial publication focused on everyday nutrition practices and weight awareness. The publication is not affiliated with any commercial, governmental, or institutional body.

The journal does not receive funding from food manufacturers, supplement companies, or wellness product businesses. Where writers have a commercial relationship with an entity whose products or services are relevant to an article's subject matter, this relationship is disclosed at the foot of the article.

The journal may carry advertising from third parties. Advertising content is clearly labelled and is editorially separate from the journal's articles. Advertisers have no influence over the editorial selection of topics, the framing of articles, or the outcome of the editorial review process.

Writers who contribute to the journal are expected to maintain this standard of independence. Any writer who accepts compensation from a commercial entity related to the subject of their article must disclose this at submission. Failure to disclose will result in the removal of the article from the archive and the termination of the contributor relationship.

06 — Notice

The content is not intended as professional advice, nor as guidance for the management of any specific condition. Readers with specific concerns about their daily routines are encouraged to speak with a qualified wellness professional.
